CB equipment.
There are many different types of CB equipment products available. Some products are required to use the CB frequencies, some are for use in certain situations, some improve on what you may already have, and others may just look good.

Legal equipment.
Before going on, it is important to note that only certain equipment is legal. If you are in any doubt about what equipment you may buy and use, check out the Legal equipment page first.


What you need:
Before you start, you should have:
  1. CB radio.
  2. Antenna.
  3. SWR meter.

If you are using a car type CB radio from home or office, you should also have:
  1. Power Supply.
  2. Coax (it will not come with a base antenna).
  3. Wall mounts.

If you are using a CB radio in a truck, you should also have:
  1. Voltage dropper.

If you are using a CB radio from any vehicle, you may also need to get:
  1. Antenna mount (may not come as part of a mobile antenna).
  2. Coax (may not come with all mobile antennas).

If you are using more than one CB, with just one antenna, you could use:
  1. Antenna switch.

If you use your CB radio in a vehicle and want to run both CB and radio from one antenna, you could use the following:
  1. Antenna splitter.

For testing CBs or measuring the actual output of CBs, you will need:
  1. Dummy load.

Other accessories that may be available include:
  1. Antenna ring.
  2. Antenna light.
  3. Antenna matcher.
  4. Antenna accessories.
  5. A different microphone.
