One of the problems faced by the last dedicated UK CB magazine was a lack of input
from the CB community. Without users, dealers and clubs keeping the magazine up to
date and in touch with local information, the magazine could no longer continue
to focus purely on CB.
It's no use believing that the publishers should create all content, they cannot
know what is happening in different areas unless someone writes in with the
information.
Extra problems.
The budget on offer for this project is quite small. Yet the plan is to provide the
on-line version of the magazine totally free and keep any printed or CD versions
down to a reasonable price to cover costs.
The magazine is not linked to any manufacturer or retailer. This allows the
magazine to be unbiased, but means that costs cannot be written off as business
promotion. It must become self-funding, covering all costs.
Why help?
Without help, it will simply not be possible. Other CB magazines have disappeared
because of lack of articles and information from readers.
If you run a business or are involved with a club, then consider the free publicity
of having your name (or business/club name) on an article in the magazine.
We are not asking that you do it all, simply help us to provide more varied
information and fill the magazine on a regular basis.
Please contribute.
We will welcome many types of help, including people contributing articles,
translations, local news and distribution (including mirror sites for free download).
We do not generally ask for absolute commitment to a specific number of contributions
or regular hours, although we would like anyone offering translations to ensure that
they could supply regular translations to ensure regular copies in their language. If
you can rope other people in to share the load, that would be great.
